Ophthalmology is the branch of medicine which deals with the eyes.

We have one of the most extensive ophthalmology services in the Midlands, located in the Eye, Ear Nose and Throat Centre at the QMC. As well as providing inpatient and outpatient services for local people, we are a specialist centre of excellence for rarer conditions.

We provide the nationally recognised Nottingham Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service.

We also run community clinics for outpatients at sites in and around Nottingham. The department is open from 7am to 10pm every day, and an emergency service runs from 10pm to 7am from ward C25, on C floor in the EENT Centre.
