Nottingham Occupational Health (NOH)

Introduction

Nottingham Occupational Health is committed to providing high quality effective occupational health services to prevent ill health in the workplace to NHS and commercial organizations. Our services include:

  • Pre-employment screening, statutory medicals, such as those for asbestos and ionising radiation, post employment checks for staff, and regular health checks for groups of workers who are exposed to particular hazards. Immunity checks and vaccinations are given when employees need to be protected against infectious diseases whilst at work.
  • Advice can be given to ensure that individuals with disabilities or health problems are not inappropriately placed in their work. We also advise on sickness absence.
  • We offer a confidential counselling service by a qualified counsellor, who is available for self referrals.
  • Occupational Health professionals are trained to look at the working environment and advise on health and safety issues.
  • NOH is willing to advise on all aspects of a healthy lifestyle such as ‘Stop smoking’, exercise plans and healthy eating.
  • NOH provides regular first aid training on emergency care in the workplace. Full certificated courses are recognised by the H.S.E. We also provide ‘Essentials of First Aid’ lectures, which are two to three hours duration.
  • Training by occupational health specialists on topics such as health and safety for display screen equipment, infection risks, skincare and stress prevention is also available.

Occupational Health launches dedicated appointment line

The Occupational Health department has set up a dedicated appointments telephone line for anyone wishing to make, cancel or change an appointment.

The new line will be manned between 2pm and 4pm from Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

The number to call is 0115 8493200 (external) or extension 65200 (internal).

The phone line has been set up on a trial basis and is for appointments at the QMC campus only. This does not affect the way in which you make/cancel or change appointments for the City Campus Occupational Health Department.

The department hopes this dedicated line will make it easier for colleagues to contact the team by phone. For all other types of calls and queries for Occupational Health please continue to call 0115 9709268 (external) or ext 61268 (internal).
