Speak up about sexual health

Patients and service users from across Nottingham have an opportunity to give their views on local NHS sexual health services as part of a public engagement exercise launched this week.

The NHS Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire South Clinical Commissioning Groups (the organisations that plan and buy health services) and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (the provider of the service) are seeking feedback from patients and the wider public to find out whether sexual health services provided in the City and the south of the County are meeting the needs of local people.

Women and men of all ages are invited to take part by filling in a short questionnaire and giving their feedback on sexual health services.

Dr Immy Ahmed, Head of Sexual Health Services at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), said: “We’re really keen to hear about people’s experience of using sexual health services, from opening times that work best for you to your views on how services could be made better in the future. The information we receive will influence the development of the services, making sure they are cost effective, run efficiently and are accessible to everyone, whatever their need.”

The engagement runs until 29 February 2012 and the questionnaire is available to fill in online or download at www.nottinghamcity.nhs.uk/have-your-say.

Alternatively, contact Alison Cargill at NUH on 0115 969 1169 ext 55324 for a hard copy of the questionnaire or to request a member of the project team to come and talk to your community group or interested organisation.

The results will be published on the NHS Nottingham City website in June.  Visit www.nottinghamcity.nhs.uk.
