A major group providing support to families of deaf children with
implants in the UK is CICS, and Nottingham Cochlear Implant
Programme and The Ear Foundation are closely involved with the
group. It provides support for parents and has regular meetings. They

Deafness Research UK is the UK's only national charity dedicated to
helping deaf and hard of hearing people through medical research and education.

The Ear Foundation at Marjorie Sherman House provides accommodation adjacent to Queen’s Medical Centre Nottingham. Where patients and their families have to travel long distances the use of this local accommodation allows them to arrive refreshed and ready for a full range of assessments.

Funded by the Medical Research Council, the Institute of Hearing Research (IHR) has it's headquarters in Nottingham and has a worldwide reputation in a diverse range of hearing research field.
