We are a team of 4 MS nurses. Our role is to offer MS patients a
gateway of information on their condition.
We are here to provide MS patients and their families with the information and support needed to assist them from initial diagnosis and throughout the disease spectrum, and to empower MS patients to make choices that will enhance their lifestyle.
We provide advice and support on symptom management, available treatments, and research information.
We provide nurse led clinics, MDT (multidisciplinary team) clinics; drop in clinic, home visits, newly diagnosed courses, symptom management courses and support groups.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the central nervous system (i.e., the brain and the spinal cord) in which inflammation causes damage to nerve cells (neurons) and the myelin sheath (insulation) which surrounds them.
Unfortunately scientists are unable to specify the cause of MS so therefore at present there is not a cure.
