Stress comes in many forms and affects us all differently. It is
something we all encounter and can be both positive and negative.
Many events can trigger stressful feelings and it means different
things to different people. What might trigger off anxiety and worry
in one person might make another feel they have more purpose to
their life. That’s why it’s important to recognise your own
responses, develop your own skills to deal with it and not compare
yourself with others.

Our Stress at Work fact sheet gives some helpful hints on ways of coping at work.
One way to help is to remind yourself of positive things – use this sheet to list all the ways in which others would describe you and keep it with you to read when you are feeling low.
NUH is running a series of “Coping with Stress” workshops for staff. Details will be published on Trust Briefing. If you are not able to access this directly your manager should make a copy available for you.
