Information for patients at their fingertips

Information for patients at their fingertips

Patients at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) can now find important information about a stay in our hospitals in a new bedside folder.

The folders have been produced with input from staff and patients. They have useful information to help patients and their visitors during a hospital stay.

Funded by Nottingham Hospitals Charity, the folders are available next to each hospital bed and include information about:

  • arrangements for mealtimes
  • visiting times
  • leaving hospital
  • hospital facilities, including restaurants, cafes and shops.

The folders are A5 ring binders and both the folders and the pages inside have been produced so that they can be wiped clean, to stop the spread of infection.

Jenny Leggott, Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Nursing and Midwifery at NUH, said: "Our aim is to ensure that our patients' stay in hospital is as comfortable as possible; making sure they feel cared for, safe and confident in the treatment we provide.

"These bedside folders have been produced to provide our patients with a range of information that we hope they find useful."
