Clinical Haematology

Introduction

The Clinical Haematology Department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is based in a dedicated facility on the City Hospital campus. The Nottingham Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre provides the Haemostasis and Thrombosis services at the QMC site. The QMC team also provides Haemoglobinopathy and Paediatric Haematology services

Adult general and inpatient clinical haematology activity is based in the Centre for Clinical Haematology at Nottingham City Hospital campus. This facility has 40 inpatient beds, a Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and General Haematology Ward, a Day Case Unit with 20 workstations including a Stem Cell/Apheresis service and a large Outpatients department.

Obstetric Haematology clinics are held on both sites on a weekly basis.

Nottingham is a nationally recognised transplant unit for adults with haematology malignancy and a specialist tertiary service for lymphoma, myeloma and other haematological malignancies. The department actively participates in clinical trials in AML, ALL, CML, myeloma and lymphoma and is a major recruiter into clinical trials run by the NCRN.

Day Case Services

Day case is open Monday to Friday 8am until 6.30pm.

Please arrive in good time for your appointment, but if you arrive too early you may have a long wait.

Haemostasis and Thrombosis clinics are held at QMC in Clinic 2 on B floor.
All other activity takes place at the Centre for Clinical Haematology on the City Hospital campus, located on the South Road next to the Endoscopy Centre,

Access from within the hospital is via South Corridor at junction S5.

If using the Medilink bus, get off at the Green Entrance stop.

How to find us

The Clinical Haematology building is on the South Road of the City campus. We are in between the Endoscopy Department and the Green Entrance. If you are using the Medilink bus service, get off at the Green Entrance stop and walk back to our main doors.

If you are walking inside the hospital, we are near junction S5 of the South Corridor.
